A 7.3 magnitude earthquake rocked Haiti to it’s core about 5:00pm EST.
Aftershocks of 5.5. and 5. 9 are currently being reported.
The earthquake hit about ten miles southwest of the densely populated city of Port-au-Prince. Seismologists are expecting more.
There are reports of a major hospital collapse, along with widespread damage and power outages.
Numerous reports are coming in of people trapped in rubble. The catastrophic quake has cause tremendous panic in a town ill prepared to deal with such a tragedy.
The White House has instructed staff to prepare for humanitarian assistance.
